Perhaps the worst part of the World Magic Seminar was when Criss Angel pulled out a six page script and began to thank everyone in existence and then promoted his believe charity. No joke it was a 25 minute speech! Lance Burton saved the night by calling him one of the top magicians on the strip, cause lance retired! Thats comedy!

Here are the 3 gentlemen who won the world magic seminars close up competition.

Kevin Viner- First Place

Rubin Mooreland & Scott Xavier- Second and Third. Since the ranks wernt publicized I’m not sure if Rubin got second or third.

This is my second year of the world magic seminar and I was shocked that the performers for the close up contest this year (2011) didn’t get any recognition. There were rumors that the contest was bankrupt, and they were trying to save on expenses. Still others have reported that Bob Rossi is going senile and actually overlooked the contest this year. SERIOUSLY! It is claimed that the World Magic Seminar winners got no awards or certificates even cause Bob forgot to have them printed!

Juan Tamariz Lecture

Back a few months ago at a Curtis Kam lecture I met Kimja Schmidt a mean slight of hand guy. Charming and devastating with a deck of cards. I was impressed to find that Kimja’s newest book “DeviationZ” is soon coming out and I got a review copy!

Deviationz is an amazing book filled with magic of a stack deck. Using the Aronson stack, Kimja is able to perform a color change to any selected playing card on command. The book doesnt stop there. It is full of great magic miracles including my personal favorite, Kreskin Outdone. A legend of magic; Kreskin displays an open prediction. You shuffle. You cut anywhere. The prediction matches the card. Kimja has duplicated this beautifully!
